RaceReady

A full-screen widget for EdgeTX colour radios. It shows one big READY or NOT READY banner before you arm, and tells you why when you're not ready.

Hardware trial. v4 is being trialled on a RadioMaster TX15 (EdgeTX 2.12). Downloads open once the trial is done. These steps match the v4 build.

What you need

  • An EdgeTX 2.11 or 2.12 colour-screen radio. It's validated on the RadioMaster TX15, and other colour radios such as the TX16S and Boxer are expected to work. B&W and small-screen radios aren't supported yet.
  • ExpressLRS or Crossfire telemetry.
  • Betaflight on the quad.

Install

  1. Unzip RaceReady-v4.zip onto the root of the radio's SD card, merging folders. You should end up with:
    • /WIDGETS/RaceReady/ (the widget)
    • /SCRIPTS/TOOLS/RaceRdyCfg.lua (the on-radio setup tool)
    • /SOUNDS/en/rr/ (voice alert clips)
  2. Eject the SD card safely, put it back in the radio and power on.
  3. If an older build left any *.luac files in WIDGETS/RaceReady/, delete them once.

Add the widget

  1. Long-press the main screen to edit the layout.
  2. Choose a 1×1 (App mode) layout so the widget has the whole screen.
  3. Add the RaceReady widget.
  4. Set the widget options. The defaults are fine to start with:

| Option | Default | What it does | |--------|---------|--------------| | Chem | LiPo | Pack chemistry: LiPo (4.15 V/cell), LiHV (4.30 V/cell) or Custom | | Cells | 0 (auto) | Cell count. 0 detects it automatically; or force 1 to 8 | | ELRSver | Auto | ELRS version | | PwrMgmt | OFF | Optional ELRS TX power manager | | ArmCh | 5 | Your ELRS arm channel. 0 skips the arm check | | FlatTol | 10° | How level the quad must sit while disarmed |

Use it

  • Long-press ENTER (or hold the screen) to go full screen, where the tiles respond to touch and keys. Hold RTN to exit.
  • Each tile shows one check: STATE, ARM, FLAT, BATT, RADIO, VTX, STICK, RATE, LINK, TX and MODE.
  • The banner turns green and reads READY only when every gate passes. Otherwise it reads NOT READY with the reason.
  • Tap a red tile for a detail page with the issue and how to fix it.

What has to pass

  • Link up, with no failsafe or arming-disabled flag
  • ELRS rate of 250 Hz or more, LQ 100% and RSSI of −75 dBm or better
  • Quad pack above the per-cell threshold for your chemistry
  • Radio battery above its warning level
  • Quad flat while disarmed (if attitude telemetry is available)
  • Sticks centred within ±5 µs, plus your throttle setting if you set one
  • The arm check done on the pad: arm, then disarm (unless ArmCh is 0)
  • Flight mode ACRO or AIR, and a telemetry ratio of 1:32 or slower
  • VTX at 25 mW. Pit mode blocks. If the power can't be read, the tile shows N/A and doesn't block.
  • Your switch checklist, if you've set one

Settings

  • SET (bottom right of the widget) holds the per-model settings: chemistry, cell gate, telemetry ratio and voice alerts. They're saved to the SD card for each model.
  • System → Apps → RaceRdyCfg sets the per-model switch checklist (for example TURTLE OFF) and the throttle check.

Voice alerts

Voice alerts are off by default. Turn them on in SET. Once on:

  • They stay quiet for about 10 seconds after the link comes up.
  • The same issue isn't repeated within 20 seconds.
  • They stay quiet once the race starts, until you disarm and re-link or plug in a new pack.

Tap the speaker icon on the banner to mute. The mute is saved per model.

The v4 trial build ships with silent placeholder clips in /SOUNDS/en/rr/. Spoken clips will replace them.
